Spanish Fiestas

Spanish Fiestas

Spain is renowned for its wonderful festivals. In this book, I explore the world of the Spanish Fiesta. While many will have heard of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona or La Tomatina, the massive tomato fight held each year in Buñol, there are many, many more, taking place in every town and village in Spain.

Some are Wild, with huge food fights. In Haro each year there is a massive wine battle. Other fiestas feature meringue, candy, grapes, flour, eggs and other missiles being thrown.

Some are Wonderful, such as the magnificent Semana Santa celebrations and the fantastic human towers of Catalonia.

Then, of course, there are the Weird ones and there are lots of these! Baby jumping over real babies, attending your own funeral while still alive, burying the sardine and a multitude of others which will both amuse and shock you!

I do hope you will consider buying this book. I am sure that you will get as much pleasure from reading it as I did from writing it.

As a special gift, you will find at the end of the book a link to where you can download a free copy of my book Tapas in Spain, The Essential Guide. This is a special PDF edition with embedded audio for all terms in Spanish, voiced by a native speaker from Madrid.
